About Torrington Orthopaedics

The reception on the left is a comfortable area for clients and patients alike. Our aim is to ensure that no one has to spend more time waiting than necessary, but the time there should be low stress and enjoyable.
The kennels to the left are air conditioned to provide a comfortable environment for recovery in winter and summer. There are three wards- two for dogs and one for cats and timid dogs.
Radiography (to the left) is a large room with the Celtic SMR radiography machine. We have a floating and tilting table and Potter-Bucky system. This room is electrically shielded to reduce interference in electromyography procedures.
Home
The laboratory to the right is an up to date lab with facilities for in house haematology, biochemistry and electrolyte testing. In house cytological examination is also performed here.
The prep area on the right can be accessed only when outdoor shoes have been removed. This area is the central hub for theatre and radiography.
There are two theatres both of which are positive pressure to improve sterility. The efficacy of this and routine steam cleaning are checked by performing bacteriology swabs on a weekly basis. Theatres are spacious and clutter free.
Have a look behind the scenes at Torrington Orthopaedics. The internal layout was designed by Helen Torrington and Andrew Ackroyd to permit a smooth flow to case management and to provide a pleasant environment for clients, patients and staff.
