We keep up to date with (and often lead the field in) current Orthopaedic techniques. Andy and Turlough train other surgeons in the only UK based Kyon Approved course on Tibial Tuberosity Advancement

Andy Torrington BVMS CertSAO MRCVS (andy@torvet.co.uk): I qualified from Glasgow University Vet School in 1988 and spent three years in Small Animal practices in the West Midlands. I obtained the Certificate in Small Animal orthopaedics in 1990. I was Resident in Small Animal Orthopaedics at the Royal Veterinary college for three years, following which I worked at various Orthopaedic Referral Centres. Torrington Orthopaedics was set up in 1999 with the aim of providing a dedicated Orthopaedic Referral service to the practices of the region. I have lectured in the UK, Europe and USA.
Key Surgical Interests: Total Hip Replacement, Stifle and Elbow reconstructive surgeries and spinal surgery.

Turlough O’Neill MVB MVS MACVSc CertSAS DipECVS MRCVS (toneill@torvet.co.uk): After graduating from University College Dublin in 1987, I worked in mixed practice in Ireland before emigrating to Australia where I worked in small animal practice . I gained membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 1997. I completed a residency in Small Animal Surgery and gained a Masters in Veterinary Studies at University of Melbourne in 2000. I spent a year as registrar at Melbourne University before taking a post as lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Liverpool. I completed the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2002. I became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2004. My main interests are arthroscopy and spinal surgery.

Ciara Downes MVB CertSAS MRCVS (ciara@torvet.co.uk): I graduated from Dublin Vet School in 1996 and spent two years working in a very mixed practice in Lincolnshire, followed by 5 years in mixed (mainly small animal) practice in Leicester. During this time I gained the CertSAS in 2004. I joined Willows Referral Service in Solihull in 2005 and completed a three year residency there. I am registered for the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics) and aims to sit the exam soon.
Andrea Geraci DVM MRCVS (andrea@torvet.co.uk): Andrea qualified from University of Bologna (Italy) in 1998. He has spent a reasonable amount of his career in first opinion practice whilst attending a large number of Continuing Professional Development courses in various aspects of Orthopaedic surgery. He has attended the Kyon TTA course and is a registered surgeon for this procedure. His main interest is in Fracture management currently.
