Patient Positioning for Radiography

Good Radiographs are important for a definitive diagnosis. All of our nurses are Qualified RVNs and have developed expertise in positioning patients for accurate diagnostic raddiographs.
Surgeons in Theatre 1

Our Theatres are Positive Pressure Ventilated and use Otex Air Purifiers to maintain a sterile environment.
The surgical area is positioned at the eastern end of the building. There is a central prep room, off which we have 2 theatres, scrub and gown, radiography, changing rooms and the instrument sterilisation room.
Our theatres are used only for orthopaedic surgery. They are fully lined with impervious material which is sterilised between each procedure and steam cleaned at the end of each day. The theatres are fully equipped with ECG, Capnography, Blood Pressure (invasive and non invasive) and pulse oximetry monitors. We have piped gases and air throughout the surgical area. The theatres are positive pressure ventilated and climate controlled for comfort and infection control. All our theatres are also equipped with Otex air purifiers, which filter the air in the room and remove bacteria.
We are fully equipped with orthopaedic instrumentation and maintain a complete range of Orthopaedic implants. We have air equipment (drills and oscillating saws).
We also have a MGB Arthoscope in Theatre 2. This theatre has no windows and thus can be completely darkened to aid arthroscopy procedures.
Our Scrub and gown room is where the surgeons prepare for surgery. We wear a new clean set of scrubs for each procedure. No one is allowed in our theatres without a hat mask gown and dedicated theatre clogs(even if just going in to look for something, or retrieve a piece of equipment). Before surgery the surgeons thoroughly scrub with a new brush impregnated with hibitane(a hand steriliser). They then dry their hands with sterile towels and out on a sterile gown and gloves.
